How does Speed vs. Cunning rank when compared to other Duel Decks when it comes to cards for constructed, cards for collectors, cards for financial value, or just fun for casual play?

While I have previously analyzed Duel Decks as a larger product, this video will be looking specifically at Speed vs. Cunning, and evaluating just how good of a purchase this specific duel deck is.

Please Note: Although I will show you the contents of this sealed product, this is not an unboxing video, but rather a critical review. In other words, criticism, both positive and negative, is about to follow.

So how do we grade this?

Let’s start with the financial aspect. As I established in my first Duel Deck video, all previous Duel Decks, even very poorly recieved ones, eventually rose is value if left unopened. I see no reason why that trend would stop here, even if it may take a little longer to do so. Within a few years, unopened boxes of Speed vs. Cunning should be selling for above MSRP.

What about opened boxes? In order to buy the cards individually, you would need to spend X dollars, and this too has always been true for previous duel decks. Getting one of these at or below MSRP when it is new is always going to have been cheaper than assembling the cards yourself.

But do you want these cards? And more importantly, would you be able to sell or trade these cards for the cost of buying them individually?

The only real appeal, besides to Duel Deck enthusiasts and collectors, is for cheap, casual deck to play with against your friends. But even that is a sub standard experience with Speed vs. Cunning, and you can probably still find Jace vs. Vrraska on the shelves for MSRP. Or, if you’re just loking to have fun with a friend, practice Magic, there’s a still another way to go for roughly the same cost, as I’ll show you in my next video…
